ABOUT THE RACES

COMMUNITY 10K RUN
SUNDAY 17 MAY 2026 9.30am
A flat, scenic, multi-terrain and undulating course starting at the Cookridge Village Scout Hall on Pinfold Lane.
Collect your race number on the day from 8.30am at race HQ (Cookridge Village Scout Hall). The race will be chip timed.
The route takes you down Pinfold Lane and around Paul’s Pond in an anti-clockwise direction. The route then takes you into Golden Acre Park, following the path in an anti-clockwise direction and passes the nature reserve on your right. The route continues on this path and then moves onto the grassed area and up the hill towards Arthington Road car park. More trail path and then through the woods, looking out for roots underfoot. Complete a loop of the main path, before a clockwise circuit of the lake. It is then a case of retracing the route back to the finish at the Scout Hall (with a little extra loop). Marshalls will be on hand to highlight the route and provide assistance if needed.

All proceeds of the run go to Cancer Research UK and local community sporting initiatives through the Gareth Dunn Foundation. Please help us by donating when you sign up to the race.

FUN RUN

SUNDAY 17 MAY 2026 9.00am

The Fun Run is open to everyone aged over four years, with no upper limit and we are encouraging all entrants to run in fancy dress. Collect your race number on the day from race HQ (Cookridge Village Scout Hall). There will be an organised warm up session prior to the Fun & Trail races. An out and back course starting and finishing at the Cookridge Village Scout Hall on Pinfold Lane. The run goes down Pinfold Lane and turns right toward Old Rushes Farm, where the runners do a u-turn and run back to the finish at the Scout Hall. This run (but not the 10K trail race) is suitable for wheelchairs and parents pushing buggies. Please note that all Fun Run entrants under the age of 15 must be under the supervision of an adult. Parents can run with their children without formal entry. Fancy dress is encouraged!

All proceeds of the run will go to Cancer Research UK and we would like to encourage all our runners to download a sponsor form below and raise even more money for this good cause.
