On Sunday 17 May 2020 at 9.30am, the second annual Cookridge Community 10K will take place around Golden Acre Park. There will also be a one mile Fun Run starting at 9.00am.
The races support Cancer Research UK and local charities including OPAL (Older People’s Action in the Locality), Scouts, Guides and junior sports clubs. The run is dedicated to local fundraiser, Gareth Dunn, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2018 aged just 27 after raising over £100,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Last year, the run was a ‘sell out’ with 350 runners and this year over 400 runners are expected to take part in one of the most scenic trail runs in the North of England. Link to last years photos
We are also asking for support from local companies and businesses in order to cover the running costs of the event, so all other funds raised go directly to charity. In return we will promote businesses on T-shirts, on the day and on the website and promotional material. Link to sponsor information
Gareth was an active sportsman, having been selected to train for the British Paralympic squad and run the London marathon, and often trained around Golden Acre Park a few minutes from his home in Cookridge.
We hope you can support this community event.
